Middle of the Season

We are about a month into the season, we started towards the middle of August. Each team plays at least one game a week, some even play two. Other then the weekly games there are tournaments, your team is encouraged to play in. The tournaments are not required but highly recommended. As a team we have played in one tournament, and nine games. All games are at the Belle Fourche Round-up. The tournament we played in this weekend was located in Spearfish.

As a team we need a lot of work. We have only won four out of the nine games we have played. We're not that good, but as individuals we are fantastic. We just need to come together as a team. We may not be one of the best teams in the league but we know how to have fun. We walk on with good sportsmanship and walk off with it too. We have an 8:30 game tomorrow night here in Belle Fourche, its a double header so it gets over at 10:30.

Communication

It's really important for the cut offs to communicate with the outfielders. With out that communication, the out fielders might not know where to throw the ball. Talking of others also helps with over thrown balls. Over thrown balls are the worst, they not only hurt us as a team but they give the other team a chance to advance to the next base.

You can't play any sport with out communication. Talking to you're team members on the field is one of the most important things. Communication not only helps you know where the next play is at, but where to throw the ball.

Schedules

Co-ed softball games are played during the week days and tournaments are played on weekends. There are two scheduled games a week. Each game is a double header. Every game is an  hour long but with it being scheduled as a double header its two hours long. Games are scheduled from 6:30-8:30 and 8:30-10:30. They are usually on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As for tournaments they are on Saturdays, and can start any where from 7:00am to 8:00.

On the field there must be at least 10 players. On the infield there needs to be 6 players, if the catcher is a girl then the pitcher needs to be a boy. It goes for the rest of the positions as well, if first base is a boy then second needs to be a girl, shortstop needs to be a boy and third needs to be a girl. As for the out field you need at lest 4 player, each position needs to be boy, girl, boy, girl.

The batting order is the same as the fielding rules. Whether you have a boy or girl batting first, you need the opposite sex go after them, and so forth threw out the whole batting order.
